标题: University of Houston 的金融PHD有人听说过吗?

这也是我申的学校之一,不太了解,早上接到电话说我在很有希望的15人里面,但是这当中还要刷掉3/4. 院里又来了两封信催我交申请费,我上网一看,晕了,要$150! 比申请时在网页上看到的$110又多了!还催交GT成绩,又要几十刀,想想有点不甘心啊!

不知道阿有朋友了解这个学校啊?交了钱的话这个学校的几乎要花上200刀!这学校肯定在100后,不过它到底"后"到什么程度啊?盼指教!谢谢!

I think the school is only known for Chemical Engineering.

感觉它的商科还是不错的,好象安然的CEO就是它的商学博士.另外它的商学院排名和研究的排名应该在100内.大概印象.

LZ, don't bother the college ranking. Take a look at this one:

UH ranks 43 if ranked by # of articels in JF from 2000 to 2005. And
from their website, it seems they are in an increasing trend. A bunch
of professors graduate from top tier schools and are active in research.

BTW, the application fee is $120($45+$75). The $150 typo on their website almost freaked me out at first.

是的,我说错了,开始网页上是120,我加错了,汗~~~不过我昨天已经进了那个网上付费的系统,在数额上它直接显示为$150刀了!难道是传说中的晚付费的罚款??

All I know is from their website, which is a pretty good one in my eyes.

But seems that no placement record is available online. Anyway, it's
not hard to find a job, either in academics or in industry, for a
finance PhD holder based on the job market right now. So it all depends
on your own credentials.
