如果句子简单点的话，第二个“By”可不可以省略掉呢？比方说：

By providing services and staying within the metropolitan areas，Acme Bank has become one of the most profitable savings banks in the nation。

还是必须要“By”：

By providing services and by staying within the metropolitan areas，Acme Bank has become one of the most profitable savings banks in the nation。

我觉得这里的by可以省，因为省了也没有歧义

那不就是d对了。我自己觉得做题的时候好像介词很少省的，有什么规律么？

staying前面得詞太多樂噢，加一個by句子結構會比較清晰。

加上by比较好，否则如上易在语法上有两个括号的平行，造成歧义。而加上by则平行清晰，在逻辑平行和语法平行都满足的情况下最好，E正好满足了这两条。

选最好的答案，所以选E。

BY是引导方式的，Acme Bank通过 by providing 和by staying,才成为……的
