Widely acknowledged as a great and important playwright, Eugene O'Neill brought to the United States stage it was probably its first really serious drama.

答案:B 这里"Eugene O'Neill brought to the United States stage was"是整个句子做主语吧? 可是没有what, where, why等引导的句子做主语的形式我还是第一次见. 有这种用法吗?

这里it应改为what。Eugene O'Neil 是主语，brought to是谓语.
这里是bring something to somewhere的结构。what 之后一直到
句尾，是bring的宾语，也就是那个something；而the United States stage是
那个somewhere。

这里因为something太长，所以将其置于句尾。成为bring to somewhere something。
