标题: 请教意见-如何对付promotion和申请mba
俺本来想请老板写推荐信了，不料到老板先将我叫过去，说打算给我升级。（以前考gmat请假时告诉老板说请假几天考gmat,在此提醒后来者注意，不宜在公司理轻易提起gmat).叫俺坦率一点说，打算在公司干多久，说总经理已经知道俺想出去读书，现在给他压力，要确认在公司服务多久云云（不排除老板自己假说的可能）。俺本来已经铁了心今年申请了，为了保证职位升迁，就说觉得自己经验较少，还是希望多响老板学习学习，长点经验（虚伪）。

事后想了一想，还是要今年申请，觉得4年后再读一个mba对我来说正好合适。不过问题很多，大家给点意见。
1，老板的推荐信没有了，只好找其他的同事了，不过要小心为妙，缺少了最有力的推荐信
2，要是来年mba了，离开公司了，觉得有点对不起老板，老板还是不错的，以后如何相处，总不至于走了就走了吧
3，如何对付背景调查，万一电话打到老板那里，不就完了，mba 不成，工作也有影响。搞的里外不是人。

The reference from your boss will be better; your colleague's recommendation letters work as well.

Don't worry about that. Only after you are admitted by the school, it will check your information out.

My experience tells me that it is impossible for any school to check out the specific item in one's application package before making the final decision. Again, it is what I have learned from past one year application experience.

不过，在外企该是你的东西总是你的东西，老板以服务时间来要胁的话也不见的英明。
还是为自己多想一点吧。等到今年promote了，明年下半年正好。

This is my concern too. We've always have to make two-hand preparation.

To make up for the lack of recommendation from my direct supervisor, I'm asking a regional head (indirect supervisor) to write it for me (in confidentiality). She may not know me as well as my boss, but should still be OK.

Try to work well at forst, then get as much as you can from MBA application.

You guys all have the recommendation letter real confidential? Do you prepare the sample letter and give it to the recommender to check it and sign on it or just ask them to write on their own? Do you check it after get the letter back from your recommender to make sure that they don't give any negative words in the letter? In this case, how do you manage the signature on the envelop? Thanks for your reply.

Some people draft the recommendation letter, some have the recommenders write for them. In terms of the rankings, I suggest you to talk to your recommenders and see how they would like to rank you before you decide which one to pick.
