GWD-9-Q41:

A new study suggests that the conversational pace of everyday life may be so brisk it hampers the ability of some children for distinguishing discrete sounds and words and, the result is, to make sense of speech.

还是很迷惑应该选什么呢?GWD的答案是B~我选的D,但是又觉得D的make sense的逻辑主语不对~逻辑上来说应该是children,但是语法上成了PACE,也不对~可是B的ABILITY对吗?请大家指教,谢谢

这指的是一种能力,即分辨sounds and words的能力.

可是那后面的to make sense of speech应该和to distinguish并列啊~

还是迷惑~

D里面有个not 改变句意了吧？为什么大家都无视难道是我搞错了？

偶觉得最最主要的错误还是to distinguish和to make的并列， as a result是个插入语，挡你眼前花儿的。当然ability后面也是接不定式的。

前面一个to distinguish是解释说明ability的后面一个是解释 it hampers 的effect

so D 改变了句子原来的意思

为什么我感觉像B一样造成the ability of sb. to do and to do并列的错觉才真是“改变了句子原来的意思”呢? 我也错选D了，可是results in not making确实没见过

并且，so…that……and that……是不是不能省略后一个that啊
