标题: Urgent: JD Application Steps

I have just finished LSAT, and there is another test TOEFL in this month. Since I have to work full time during the day time, I am worrying about there will not be enough time for me to prepare application after I finish my TOEFL test.  Several questions need your help. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Is there any JD Application Steps online that we can easily follow?  Currently I only have stamped chinese transcripts, so basically have not started preparing any document yet. Say, steps dealing with transcripts (and website links to evaluation organization), what should we do when dealing with LSAC (it sounds that the instructions there are very detailed for US students, but how to deal with foreign transcripts?), any reference for writing PS, .... etc

Hope there is a mini-Bible that we can follow.

I think you should have started researching well before your LSAT test. To speed up your application, use LSAC. your transcript will not be processed by LSAC, but your letter of reference will be. WES's transcript evaluation is accpeted by almost all the institutions (www.wes.org). You may want to start working on your PS RIGTH AWAY, not after you're done with your TOFEL, otherwise you won't have enough time, since you may still write an optional essay for some schools, and it takes time for your supporting materials to get to the school to complete your applications

Appreciate your suggestions very much! Chelseayang.

Did you mean (1) use LSAC for LSAT Scoring Info, Letter of References, and American Transcripts (I did postgraduate study in US), and (2) Any other materials (PS, Application, WES evalated chinese transcript, etc) should be sent to law schools directly by myself?

Shall the WES evaluated chinese transcript be sent to law schools directly?  Should the American transcripts be sent to LSAC directly from university?  Should the Letter of Recommendations be sent to LSAC directly from our references?

Are there any PS samples available?

Since I do not want to quit my job, I will only apply for local part-time JD programs. As compared with top law schools that only have full-time program, those schools typically have late deadline for applications.  This gives me a little bit breathing opportunity for such time frame. However, I am still running out of time for my application.

One of my friends thought I am crazy to apply for JD program. To work full time, it is not easy, not only in preparing the LSAT and application materials, but also even after I get into the program.  However, I can not afford without my job. I have to work.

Thanks for your help!

Should the American transcripts be sent to LSAC directly from university?  ------i think so.

Should the Letter of Recommendations be sent to LSAC directly from our references? ------i didn't use lsac online service, so i don't know. you can find the answer at www.lsac.org. detailed information is available there.

I think you should start contact the admission of the schools you are interested. My wife did so right after she finished her LSAT, and that locked her a scholorship much easier.
