Some species of Arctic birds are threatened by recent sharp increases in the population of snow geese, which breed in the Arctic and are displacing birds of less vigorous species.  Although snow geese are a popular quarry for hunters in the southern regions where they winter, the hunting season ends if and when hunting has reduced the population by five percent, according to official estimates.  Clearly, dropping this restriction would allow the other species to recover.



Which of the following, if true, most seriously undermines the argument?

    探讨一下，我选d。


    文章说结论说geese被猎杀的这段时间给了其他物种休养生息的时间。问削弱。d说由于geese太多了，扩张到了原来不去（也就是猎人也不去）的地方。那其他物种当然还会受到这些没受损伤的geese的危害。

    事情或许是这样的：


    1。文章认为geese多了是bird少了原因


    2。又认为存在狩猎限制是geese多了的原因


    3。b指出，其实这个狩猎限制其实很多年没有被打破过了（狩猎量都未超过5%），所以，现在即使打破了限制，狩猎量也不一定会超过5%，故不一定会减少geese，增加bird


    请指教

    试着解释一下,

    A, 5%的规定是在若干年前基于SG大量减少的情况下制定的,也就是说和现在情况不同,应该被drop,间接支持.

    B, 在过去的很多年里,打猎季节通常都结束的比预计的早,也就是说5%的减少没有达到,也可以联想是猎人没什么兴趣打猎,总之是根本达不到restriction的5%, 所以, drop这个restriction没有实际意义,从而削弱.

    C, 支持. 每年都增多,如果5%不变,就是因为SG的量大了. 至多是个支持.

    D, 无关.

    E. 无关,注意说的是natural predation, hunting不是natural predation.

    I support B but with another reason.

    Since the time of close of the hurting season is getting earlier and according to offical estimate hunting will be close when  the population reduced by five percent ,I think that means the preiod of population reduced by five precent is getting shorter.What does it mean?That means totall amount of population of bird is not that big ,so the period of five precent reduction has been shorter.If the popluation is not big,whether this restriction is necessary?No.

    对的。提早结束可能是（1）因为HUNTER没兴趣，也可能是（2）一天之内就把5% 打光了。呵呵。。

    看了这么多唯一一个觉得reasonable的解释...但是这种想法太绕，恐怕目前的能力难以想到。我再想会不会在其他方面还能有更好的解题方法
