希望讨论一下and前逗号的使用，我映象中and后如果有主语则要用逗号，如果与前面句子合用一个主语则不需要逗号，但是此题不是这样，请NN指教，and前逗号何时用何时不用？谢谢！

你说的没有错，不过这里因为and 之前有插入语during the reign of Vespasian，逗号的作用是用来分割插入语，不是分割句子，如果把插入语去掉，插入语前后的逗号都可以去掉，这样你就明白了
