我把大全中所有enough to和so as to、so that区分的题目搜出来,自己感觉区别是这样的
而so as to、so that 引导状语从句来表so怎么样所带来的结果
Enough to 与so as to 区别
1.V+Enough to do 做adv修饰动词,放在动词后面,表其程度足够来如何如何,而so as to、so that表程度足够引起的结果

Og47. Displays of the aurora borealis, or "northern lights," can heat the atmosphere over the arctic enough to affect the trajectories of ballistic missiles, induce electric currents that can cause blackouts in some areas and corrosion in north-south pipelines.
(A) to affect the trajectories of ballistic missiles, induce
(B) that the trajectories of ballistic missiles are affected, induce
(C) that it affects the trajectories of ballistic missiles, induces
(D) that the trajectories of ballistic missiles are affected and induces
(E) to affect the trajectories of ballistic missiles and induce
heat (the atmosphere over the arctic) enough to
The use of the phrasing can heat... enough to affect in A and E is more idiomatic than the use of the subordinate clause beginning with that in B, C, and D. Also, B produces an illogical and ungrammatical statement by making induce parallel with the verb heat rather than with the appropriate form of the verb affect; C lacks agreement in using the singular pronoun it to refer to the plural noun displays; and D is faulty because induces cannot fit grammatically with any noun in the sentence. Choice A incorrectly separates the two infinitives to affect and [to] induce with a comma when it should compound them with and, as does E, the best choice
2.Adj+ Enough to do 做adv修饰adj,放在adj后面
大全629Seeming to be one of the few corporations diversified enough to survive the recession, many shareholders ignored the drop in third-quarter profits and invested even more heavily in Emco.

(D) Although it seemed(E)
(E) Because it seemed to be

(A) glaciers, rather than being the cold, dry polar regions, would be instead the cool, moist middle latitudes
(B) glaciers are not the cold, dry polar regions but the cool, moist middle latitudes
(C) glaciers are the cool, moist middle latitudes rather than the cold, dry polar regions
(D) glaciers, instead of being the cold, dry polar regions, would be the cool, moist middle latitudes(B)

(A) stomach disorders severe enough to have them

88. The Emperor Augustus, it appears, commissioned an idealized sculpture portrait, the features of which are so unrealistic as to constitute what one scholar calls an "artificial face."
(A) so unrealistic as to constitute
(B) so unrealistic they constituted
(C) so unrealistic that they have constituted
(D) unrealistic enough so that they constitute
(E) unrealistic enough so as to constitute
The verbs are and calls indicate that the sculpture is being viewed and judged in the present. Thus, neither the past tense verb constituted (in B) nor the present perfect verb have constituted (in C) is correct; both suggest that the statue's features once constituted an artificial face but no longer do so. Also, B would be better if that were inserted after so unrealistic, although the omission of that is not ungrammatical. Choices D and E use unidiomatic constructions with enough: unrealistic enough to constitute would be idiomatic, but the use of enough is imprecise and awkward in this context. Choice A, which uses the clear, concise, and idiomatic construction so unrealistic as to constitute, is best.
He is old enough to join the army.
171.
In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry(D)
(E) in order that he would marry
The sentence calls for an adverbial clause of purpose to explain why Henry sought the annulment. D, the best choice, does this clearly and correctly. It is introduced by an appropriate conjunction, so that, and contains a logically appropriate verb form, could marry. Awkward and imprecise, A does not specify who is to marry Anne. B substitutes an illogical coordinate predicate for the needed purpose clause; because the annulment had not yet been granted, Henry could not remarry. C lacks an appropriate conjunction, and the infinitive clause to be married to... makes this choice awkward and unidiomatic. Although E uses an appropriate conjunction, in order that, the verb form would marry is unidiomatic and illogical (might marry would be better).
只是B substitutes an illogical coordinate predicate for the needed purpose clause; because the annulment had not yet been granted, Henry could not remarry.
请教,so as to 前面的主语怎么找?

个人认为enough用的还是挺少的~相比较so as to 和so that ..
首先,答案指出:1,这是固定句型:the sentence uses the construction "x happened so that y could happen";so introduces a clause of purpose or result, explaining the reason for the action in the main clause.(在该句中表示目的,正如我上面写的加了could就表示目的了)
2.B:the alternative is ungrammatical and illogical:Henry could not marry simply on the basis of seeking annulment(这个有点费解.. 不过,to be married 没有to marry 好倒是真的~~
明明og的解释“Choice A, which uses the clear, concise, and idiomatic construction so unrealistic as to constitute, is best.”
1、You use so and so that to introduce the result of the situation you have just mentioned.
I am not an emotional type and so cannot bring myself to tell him I love him...
People are living longer than ever before, so even people who are 65 or 70 have a surprising amount of time left...
There was snow everywhere, so that the shape of things was difficult to identify.
2、You use so, so that, and so as to introduce the reason for doing the thing that you have just mentioned.
Come to my suite so I can tell you all about this wonderful play I saw in Boston...
He took her arm and hurried her upstairs so that they wouldn't be overheard...
I was beginning to feel alarm, but kept it to myself so as not to worry our two friends.
3、You can use so...that and so...as to emphasize the degree of something by mentioning the result or consequence of it.
The tears were streaming so
fast she could not see...
The deal seems so attractive it would be ridiculous to say no...
He's not so daft as to listen to rumours.
重要的是后面两种用法,so that和so...that,以及so as to和so...as to还是要搞清楚的。
但我觉得石林说的是so that和so as to作目的状语的时候,而不是so...that or so...as to(像12楼所说)

当时印象很深刻的,否则SO AS TO的话不知谁要 MARRY ANNE 了
so as to 就近修饰Queen Catherine 人物不清
刚看了前面enough to的例子,题目完全没有要考enough to和so as to及so that区别的意思,请大家做题时不要考虑的太多了……

Congress is debating a bill requiring certain employers provide workers with unpaid leave so as to care for sick or newborn children.
(A) provide workers with unpaid leave so as to
(B) to provide workers with unpaid leave so as to
(C) provide workers with unpaid leave in order that they
(D) to provide workers with unpaid leave so that they can
(E) provide workers with unpaid leave and
答案是D
新东方对这道题的解释是so as to要前后逻辑主语一致,即B选项错在care for sick or newborn children的逻辑主语是emloyers而不是workers,并非前辈brightcoolsz所说的那样so as to就近修饰。 A does not specify who is to marry Anne.

638Several years ago the diet industry introduced a variety of appetite suppressants, but some of these drugs
caused stomach disorders severe enough to have them banned by the Food and Drug Administration.
(A) stomach disorders severe enough to have them
(B) stomach disorders that were severe enough so they were
(C) stomach disorders of such severity so as to be
(D) such severe stomach disorders that they were(D)
(E) such severe stomach disorders as to be
OG解释说so as to 主语不清,不能明白.
1.当看到 'so as to' , 找准谁是动作的发起人,没歧义则用so as to (相对简洁)
Ex)The Emperor Augustus, it appears, commissioned an idealized sculptured portrait, the features of which are so unrealistic that they have constituted what one scholar calls an “artificial face”
The official answer is: so unrealistic as to constitute
Ex1)Congress is debating a bill requiring certain employers provide workers with unpaid leave so as to care for sick or newborn children.
official answer : to provide workers with unpaid leave so that they can
解释:歧义,” employers”or”workers”
Ex2)OG171. In 1527 sought to have his marriage to annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would marry
D
A歧义,"King Henry VIII" or"Queen Catherine"?
King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to annulled so as to marry Anne Boleyn.
(A) so as to marry
(B) and so could be married to
(C) to be married to
(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would marry
我个人觉得a如果so as to没有错误
赞同,今天做37题,说so...as to是错误的了
