标题: Finance PhD 项目选择
刚刚收到UW Coordinator的邮件，比较惊喜。想问问大伙儿的意见？

目前还是lean toward WashU，因为WashU有跟多的faculty做asset pricing。I would love to hear from you guys

我好像感觉po主跟我是校友，washu自然是好选择,前提是你能接受继续在stl再待上5年

学校tier差不多，都属于普通的tier1，论坛上的general point也没啥帮助，看你自己的情况选择了。
不过我个人赞成楼上的观点，STL真的不是个好地方，你要考虑在那里待五年你自己OK不。

Overall, WUSTL is slightly better than Univ. Washington placement-wise.

WUSTL印度人一直place不错，中国人感觉也就那样。但是placement这种东西本来就很tricky，很多人找工作的时候并不是只看学校的排名。我还是建议同一个档次的学校，如果没什么特别不好的名声，还是根据自己的研究兴趣等其他个人因素决定。

You are right, WUSTL and Univ. Washington are close peers in terms of faculty research, as evidenced by their respective rankings in UTD Top 100 (per capita productivity is significantly higher at the former, of course). By the way, I guess you meant by 'tricky' 'perceived differently by different people' or, figuratively, 'being in the beholder's eye'. I have a posting in the forum titled 'The Many Facets of Placements', if you are interested in taking a look.

我说tricky的意思是导致最后placement的因素有很多，大概参考下就行了。
