1.(81)Manydaring vacationers who participate in guided boat tours on the Tarcoles River encounter native crocodiles lurking in the shallows, whoseeyes and noses are peeking out from the surface of the murky water.

(A) encounter native crocodiles lurking in the shallows, whose eyes and noses are peeking out

(B) encountered native crocodiles lurking in theshallows, whose eyes and noses peek out

(C) had encountered native crocodiles lurking inthe shallows, whose eyes and noses peek out

(D) encounter native crocodiles lurking in the shallows, witheyes and noses peeking out

(E) encounter native crocodiles lurking in theshallows, with eyes and noses that are peeking out
D
类似于 ", with ..."

2.(82)At the end of the Na Pali Coast Trail inKauai is a gorgeous beach, which stretches on for a mile, anda waterfall that provides fresh water for the many people who camp there.

倒装的话,前面is错误,后面有beach and waterfall

(B) is a gorgeous beach, which stretches on for a mile, beside a waterfall that provides fresh water for the many

(C) there is a gorgeous beach stretching on for amile and a waterfall that provides fresh water for many of the people

(D) there is a gorgeous beach stretching on for amile and a waterfall providing fresh water for the many

(E) there is a gorgeous beach that stretches onfor a mile beside a waterfall, providing fresh water for many of the people
B
3.(83)The governor’s team of advisors, includingher education and political strategists, has not beenavailable for comment since the governor released her controversial educationreform proposal.

(A) has not been available for comment since the governorreleased her controversial education reform proposal
(这里不是判断available for或者 to do,这里前面因主语是governor’s team,而没有介绍governor,所以必须要写governor,不然her无法判断是谁。For comment也比较清楚了,比to make comment好)

(B) have not been available for comment since thegovernor released her controversial education reform proposal
team单复数)

(C) have not been available for comment since shereleased her proposal on controversial education reform
team单复数)

(D) has not been available for comment since shereleased her controversial education reform proposal

(E) has not been available to make comments since shereleased her proposal on controversial reform in education

(B) Agatha Christie used her travels with herarchaeologist husband to inspire several mystery novels
错误inspire novels

(C) Because her husband was an archaeologist, Agatha Christiewas able to use their travels as inspiration for several of her mystery novels

(D) Together with her archaeologist husband,Agatha Christie was inspired to incorporate their travel into several of hermystery novels

(E) Agatha Christie's travels with her archaeologist husbandserved as inspiration for several of her mystery novels

解释:"its" is a possessive pronoun, so it can have either apossessive or a non-possessive noun as its antecedent. If you have a possessiveNOUN, then the limit applies.
For example, in "the cat'sfur," the word "cat's" is a possessive noun. If I wanted to usea pronoun to refer to the possessive noun "cat's," I could only use apossessive pronoun.
The cat's fur makes her taillook bigger than it really is. In this sentence the pronoun "her" isa possessive pronoun and it is referring to a possessive noun. That IS okay.
The cat's fur makes her seemreally fluffy. In this sentence, the pronoun "her" is an objectpronoun and it is referring to a possessive noun. That's NOT okay.
The cat is so fluffy that hertail looks bigger than it really is. In this sentence, the pronoun"her" is a possessive pronoun and it is referring to a regular noun. That IS okay. So, a possessive pronoun can refer to both a regular noun and apossessive noun.
BUT if you have a possessiveNOUN, you can only use a possessive pronoun to refer to it - you can't use anobject or subject pronoun to refer to a possessive NOUN.

D. the runway was said by aviation officials to be inacceptable condition during the emergency landing

(D) Though Beowulf has a language that ispractically incomprehensible to contemporary readers, a multitude ofsimilarities are revealed to modern English through careful linguistic analysis.

it is incomprehensible的是语言,不应该是analysis

3.A 主语team是单数,排除BC;DE中she指代错误
*:GMAT中可以用“The editor's team and his family went to the ceremony.” 但不能用 “The editor's team accompanied him to the ceremony.” 因为 his 等于editor's。

4. D as being 重复,排除AB;thought to be 固定搭配,排除E;主语是一个整体(一种花),因此用单数谓语

5. E order 表示命令时,所引导的从句中用虚拟语气,即应该用动词原形,不能有should,排除ABD;C 中 for all lakes and streams 修饰test,没有E清晰

Travels that she took with her husband inspired Agatha"

8. B lions and tigers 是动物,不能用who,排除 CD;主语和 roar 的关系是主动,排除 A;

9. A B中 it 指代 language of B 而不是analysis;C 句意为 language of B reveal ...

10. A 根据 remains 得出主语是单数,指代应该用 it,排除CDE;variously 应该修饰 cause 而不是 attribute,排除B

5E order that命令,虚拟需要原型be tested; C 中for后面的修饰位置不优
9A despite that错;being冗余; Beowulf has a language 不如 the language of B

"With eyes and noses peeking out" -- 这没有意义)。 With eyes and noses peeking out")。

1. D 错选A
2. B
there is和is无法排除答案
5. E
In addition, it is illogical to test a lake or stream "for mercury levels": this implies that one is testing to see whether mercury levels exist, test for sth指的是测试有没有mecury level,语义不合理,无法测试一个level
6. E 错选C
没懂
