my cousin took extra classes every semester in college, graduating in three years 为什么是对的呀
comma graduating不是要和took 一个timeframe的吗？

所以第一张图里的例句 是不是不对呀？

comma+doing可以有三种功能哈：
1. 表伴随修饰前面的动词（多数情况下是主句谓语动词，但其实也可以修饰非谓语动词比如不定式）。你所说的timeframe一致，主要是这种情况下的特征，但要注意，伴随虽然有同时性的特征，但并不意味着它在表达时间when的逻辑，也不意味着任何同时的动作都可以构成修饰。实际上所谓的副词性修饰，构成的逻辑实际上是how的逻辑：SVO, doing中，伴随的doing实际上是在具体描述how to do V，只有满足这个逻辑才能构成合理修饰关系。
比如：小明翘着二郎腿坐在沙发上。“翘着二郎腿”是“坐在沙发上”的伴随动作，在描述“小明怎样坐在沙发上”，所以用英文表述，可以用伴随状语：Xiaoming is sitting on the sofa, crossing his legs.
2. 表解释说明。这种用法中，doing是对前面的谓项（很多时候不是实际动作，而是系表结构表达的一般性状态或者属性）进行具体解释。这种情况，修饰语和修饰对象满足【具体-抽象】的逻辑，比如Xiaoming is a good student, studying very hard. 这种情况下，实际上不考虑timeframe的问题，因为在说小明的一个特征，而这个特征并不是某一个时间点或时间段发生的事，而是一个不受时限的一般性属性。
前面两种用法，语法上都必须满足【修饰语doing继承所修饰动词发出者（逻辑主语）】的语法规则。
3. 表结果。修饰语doing构成所修饰动作的直接结果。这种情况，因和果往往不是完全同时的，但所谓的“直接”结果，按照Ron的说法来说，可以理解为【几乎没有时间间隔】。你列的这个例句，就是一个典型的结果状语用法：正因为他侄子每学期都额外上课修学分，才三年就毕业了（提前毕业）。
值得注意的是，结果状语的用法，doing的发出者未必一定要和主句谓语的发出者也就是主句主语相同，而是可以整句构成doing的发出者，或者说是主句里的“动作代表的事件”导致了某结果，而不是非得归因到人（物）
看一个OG中的正确句子：
Over the next few years, increasing demands on the Chattahoochee River, which flows into the Apalachicola River, could alter the saline content of Apalachicola Bay, robbing the oysters there of their flavor and making them smaller, less distinctive, and less in demand.
这里robbing和making做结果状语修饰动作alter，它们的逻辑主语显然不是Chattahoochee River这条河本身，而是Chattahoochee River could alter the saline content这件事带来了后面两个结果

曼哈顿里面有一个句子
The country's economy is unstable, the result of a stock market crash occurring
ten years ago. 错的 （这里也是表解释说明的一般性状态或属性 但是因为 ten years ago所以是错的）

Xiaoming is a good student, studying very hard ten years ago 这样的话 是不是就是错的呀 （感觉自己编有点奇怪的句子，Xiaoming was a good student, studying very hard ten years ago 这样感觉对一点）
下面是曼哈顿的解释
In the first sentence, the word occurring seems to indicate that the crash is happening now,
since the main verb is in present tense-but the sentence clearly states that the crash occurred
ten years ago. This sentence is incorrect.
The second sentence correctly changes the modifier form to indicate that the crash occurred
in the past.

Five hundred million different species of living creatures have appeared on earth, nearly 99 percent of them (noun phrase) vanishing (modifier)
这个句子是错误的 ron的解释是 this version doesn't work, either, because any __ing modifier must be something that obtains in the same timeframe as the stuff to which it's attached. vanishing is not simultaneous with appearing, so, nope.

我想问 这里ron的解释是不是太绝对了 然后做题的时候 什么时候是要考虑timeframe 什么时候是不需要考虑timeframe 就是按照三种类型的comma ing 去选择吗（1表伴随前面的动词，2表解释说明，3表结果）
