139. The company announced that its profits declined much less in the second quarter than analysts had expected it to and its business will improve in the second half of the year.
A. had expected it to and its business will improve
B. had expected and that its business would improve
C. expected it would and that it will improve its business
D. expected them to and its business would improve(B)
E. expected and that it will have improved its business
请教，关于这题的代词问题
CDE应该是因为时态问题，这题选择B ，我主要比较纠结对于代词的理解。
我的理解如下：
A：it不对，profits 是复数，所以it不对，感觉analysts前面是不是省略了指代profits的that？（that作宾语省略了），即than （that） analysts had expected, 所以也不需要指代？
而且如果省略了前面的it，则后面its指代company逻辑上更合理，因为这里可以多个同一级的代词指代同一个名词
本人语法比较烂，如果错的离谱请轻捶谢谢！

楼主基本理解正确，it可指代company， A选项的it用them （指代Profits)合理些

这里完整的是......than analyst had expected them to
them指代的是profits
个人理解不用that另外指代profit

但是B 选项，好像没有them to ，所以就不太清楚这里怎么指代profits，想请教一下~
