答案中的 it 难道在语法上是否应该指代Josephine Baker? 只是it不能指代人物，所以排除这种可能，而变成明确指代paris？如果本句的主语是动物，那么it是否有指代混淆的错误？

该题目怎么注释的呢？

答案是D么

个人认为：

it 应该是形式主语吧，指代to be an exptriate,类似it's difficult to do sth

如果象原句排列，语法上，It就是指代 paris 了, but how can paris be an expartiate?

what's more, "long before" modifys both "J B made ... "" she remained"

如果是D,为什么不省略she呢？

it应该是形式主语。代后面的不定式。

OG只是认为第二个句子she开始，所以第一个句子最好是JB作为主语，所以排除其他选项，而OG根本就不提it这个句子。

如果it作为形式主语，那么这个有该如何翻译？to be an expatriate was fashionable?
