我的理解是比较有省略是可以接受的.
858的C price比较是没错的(OG解释错误)。Prices are higher now than (those of/they were) a year ago, 括号里省略不能作为直接排除的理由（比如872A就是对的）。排除的理由是 ",and are hurting crops"明显错误，本身是run on sentence, 整个句子结构也不合语法
872的E last year's的比较是错误的 - prices rise higher this year than (they did) last year, 可以省略they did, 省略后是last year不是last year's；还有it is expected that 强调语气没有用的必要
