标题: Prep08 183求解平行

A. to set dividends more conservatively than they were

B. to set dividends more conservatively than they have been

C. to be more conservative than they have been in setting dividends

D. that they will be more conservative than they were in setting dividends

E. that they will be more conservative than they have been to set dividends

如题。答案为C，我想问一下A,B中的平行怎么看呢？A选项是be 和do不能平行吗？可我又看到其他的贴子说这样的可以平行的例子很多。为什么答案B变成have been setting /have set就平行了呢？这里有一些混乱，求大神解读。谢谢。

A和B就是因为be动词在前面没有平行对象所以错。
你可以问问说这样be动词也可以平行的那些人有哪个例子。
也许在其他选项当中be动词和do是可以平行，如果其他选项更差的话。
但是在这个题目当中，C选项明显优于A B

另外，C选项不仅是变了than之后的部分，than之前的主句部分人家也是变了的。
several industry analysts expect automakers……to be more conservative than they have been in setting dividends 你看到了吗人家是to be conservative 和 have been conservative比，不能更完美了

我觉得你理解错了，平行是平行，比较是比较；比较是比平行更加严格的平行。平行的时候是可以be动词和实意动词当然是可以平行，没有问题。但是比较的时候，我记忆中我做过的题，如果是be动词和实意动词的前后搭配，都是错的

“比较是比平行更严格的平行”这里存疑，我看曼哈顿只是说比较是平行的一个分支，核心思想仍然是平行，但“更”平行的表述并无涉及。我觉得还是得看整体的选项的，像这道题其他更不平行了肯定不选。anyway,谢谢！
