Went to a Chicago GSB reception recently and heard some interesting facts from its associate directors of adcom.

The program admits a little more applicants in the Second round than in the First round. Yes, you heard it right.

About 1000 offers are given each year and about 550 students are matriculated. Out of the 1000 offers, 120 to150 are extended in the third round. The third round admits are extremely competitive and considered "wildcard" holders, so you definitely don't want to swim with those sharks.

因为它的ESSAY题目太难写，我已经把它放第二轮了，看来还放对了.

但是可能第二轮申请的人也会比第一轮多。所以录取人数多少还不能说明问题，录取率才能说明问题呀。

呵呵，昨天我也去了北京的session。感觉几个校友都挺好的，尤其是那个admission officer，做presentation的风格我很喜欢。

有一点很重要的，就是取消了对toefl成绩分项的要求，大家不用为听力担心了……

请问，session上有提及今年可能的招生人数么？

还有就是去年的录取比率，Wharton会上就说去年是大陆250进24人

录取比例是不会说的，这是chicago的传统。

alumni network我特地问了校友会那个负责人。反正在中国人很多，但是不会有很多活动，主要靠个人能力去联系了。

I recalled the speaker said 1 out of 5 applicant gets the offer. However, he was talking about the overall admissions rate. I assume Chinese applicants may not get the same rate.
