楼主career plan是IB或者PE,留美。目前比较纠结选哪个项目,两者排名很相近,NYU地处纽约地理位置有优势,但是Cornell有奖学金,并且属于藤校名气稍大一点儿。

Congratulations on your acceptance to two great schools and your impressive scholarship from Cornell! Cornell is very generous with scholarships and that's one of the ways that it's been increasing its yield percentage (yield = % of accepted students who attend the school). Yield is an important factor for school ranking, which is why it's in Cornell's interest for that number to keep increasing. If you are respectful and humble and not too pushy, you could try sharing your Cornell scholarship with NYU and saying something like "I really like NYU and it is a higher-ranked school for my ambition of XYZ, but I'm looking to maximize my tuition ROI and reduce my debt burden, can you help make this financial decision easier..." There's no guarantee that this back and forth negotiation will work, but as long as you are respectful and humble and take no for an answer rather than being a pest, there's really no harm in trying. You can also say that you are willing to be patient for aid (as many schools will have more aid available as the deposit deadline gets closer because people who received aid may decline the offer and go somewhere else, which puts the aid back in the AdCom's hands to potentially give to people like you). Both of these schools will be wanting to maximize their yield so they may be willing to throw money at you.
Your interest in IB could be pursued at either school, and both have very good odds of placement. PE is more a function of pre-MBA experience, regardless of school. Lots of people at HBS want PE and don't get it because they don't have the requisite sell-side experience and they have to start out in IB. Realistically Stern may be better for this kind of finance recruiting than Johnson simply based on location (you'd be in NYC rather than Ithaca). You are correct that the rankings of these schools are similar and it really just depends on what list you are looking at (e.g., US News & World Report, the Economist, Financial Times, etc.). It really is a great achievement to have gained admission to both. Congratulations and good luck to you!
