标题: 求问一道og的语法题，错了很多很多次

Digging in sediments in northern China, evidence has been gathered by scientists suggesting that complex life-forms emerged much earlier than they hadpreviously thought.（正确答案是c我选了e，因为之前在曼哈顿语法书上看到说suggest不能用现在进行时，只能用一般现在时态所以排除了。然后想问一下这里不用that的原因是因为用了会冗余，还是说前后的“life form”一词没有改变所以不能用呢，因为看到曼哈顿语法书上说只有当名词改变了原来的意思才能用that否则要用them来当代词）

1, 通过句首的现在分词digging需要是主句主语发出的动作排除AB
2, 读C 看着没问题放着
evidence suggesting是现在分词在句中就近修饰名词，与被修饰的名词是主动关系
3, that which不对没有两个指代词连用的
4, 读E scientists have gathered evidence which suggests an earlier emergence of life-forms than that previously thought. 如果前后要形成对比的话需要是an earlier emergence than that ( another emergence) was previously thought,要不然的话 that previously thought 不是一个完整的结构。

C不用that是因为earlier是状语，that只能在名词比较的时候指代。
我的经验曼哈顿看数学就行了，verbal部分会让你过分关注语法点，如果想考到700分，考试时根本碰不到。
我的感觉，SC一定要关注语义，琢磨一下OG练习题之前的描述。比如这句话，复杂生命出现的更早（A/C） vs （复杂生命）更早的出现（B/D/E），含义还是有差别的吧。这种情况下，原句的语义没错的时候，是不能改变原有意思的。
