标题: BECAUSE OF/DUE TO + NOUN+VERBING求助
Tommy 代课的一节，其中A）C)都有 BECAUSE OF/DUE TO + NOUN+VERBING的结构，RON说这种结构在PREPOSITION + NOUN+VERBING是intended object的时候是错的，但是RON没有说due to/becausetimmy在课上说不清除是否错误。有大神可以讲解一下吗，最好能有例子或者RON哪届课讲了，感谢。（by the way 虽然这道题有更明显的错误）

IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Due to must always modity a noun. IN this clause it modifies "many of Guy de Maupassant's short stories have become classic"(an action)

is wrong, because of + noun

because of the author slowly revealing a tragic twist of fate at the end of each piece

, I think it is wrong either, but not sure. Though "author revealing" is a gerund, it still expresses an action

至于due to的具体用法，RON 10-09-23这节课有讲，because of在RON 09-11-12讲了一点点。概括就是due to/because of后面都跟名词性质的成分，但是due to modifiers a noun while because of modifiers an entire clause

最近又学习了一会，感觉这个问题我现在想通了，B我完全同意你的说法，A稍微补充一下，classics这里是名词，但是解释的应该是M的作品成为经典，即前面这个句子，而不是经典作品这个概念。

C的话觉得稍微有点问题，首先这里一定不是GERUND，而是VERBING作为MODIFIER修饰author，because of可以用于解释完整句子的原因，LITERALLY讲，错误在author本身不能当作原因，人不应该是书成为名字的原因。

当然如果从语义出发，这些都不是问题，直接pass所有选项。快把ron神课看完了，来填一下坑，欢迎纠正

同意你说的C，当时我直接把because of后面的单拎出来看就没发现这个语义上的错误
A选项我的意思就是due to在句中modifies的是many of Guy de Maupassant's short stories have become classics这个事实而不是某一个名词

我看到Ron讲解because of和due to的章节和上面那位同学讲得一样。但我觉得楼主提到的介词+名词+doing和这道题的考点应该没有关系。due to和because of是一个整体，是为了引出后续的名词，不能因为介词和doing挨着就认为是介词+名词+doing的结构。你提到的这个结构应该更见于There is no evidence of my brother stealing candy（错误例句，引自Ron）。这应该是两个不同的考点。

是的，当时没分清，这两个确实不一样，但其实错误点都是一样的，本来该做MAIN message的东西放在了MODIFIER里，导致了句意表达出问题。
