i always thought "than usual" is the correct form, (eg OG253) but i just did one question about realized that sometimes, when 主詞是相同而比較時 "than is usual " 就必須了
But i am still...quite confused about its usuage, i saw the discussion about than usual and than normal ..but cannot clarify my thoughts..
let's discuss this together!!
The Parthenon is larger than usual for a Doric temple, with eight columns on the short sides and seventeen on the long ones rather than the typical six and thirteen.
a)) usual
b) is usual
c) has been usual
d)one usually is
e) it is usual
open to discuss
larger than is usaul (usual is a noun here)
为什么usual是noun?
我觉得那句话应该是The Parthenon is larger than (it )is usual for a Doric temple, 省略了IT,这样就平行了。
