Technically, "quicksand " is the term for sand that is so saturated with water as to acquire a liquid`s character.
A that is so saturated with water as to acquire a liquid's character
B that is so saturated with water that it acquires the character of a liquid
C that is saturated with water enough to acquire liquid characteristics
D saturated enough with water so as to acquire the character of a liquid
E saturated with water so much as to acquire a liquid character

我排除B是因为我觉得B项的it会指代不明,比如不一定指代sand,而是指代term;
Technically, "quicksand " is the term for sand that is saturated with water deeply to acquire liquid characteristics,看起来没什么问题

RON有一个帖子讲过so as to 和 enough to在句意上的区别。

我也不知道,但是在OG2017、prep 07上、prep 08中,先后出现了6次so that/as to 和 enough to的对比,正确答案无一例外都是前者。

Yeah, I don't think that a real GMAT question would ever turn on this difference. Still, think about the way you'd use these expressions in common language: the "so.. as to" emphasizes the extreme nature of whatever you're talking about. The "enough" is implying that you're just over the threshold of something, but not implying any sort of extreme quality.

For instance:
The ribbon I bought was long enough to wrap fully around the package with a few inches left over.
In this sentence, there is nothing particularly extreme about the length of the ribbon (unless the package happens to be Paul Bunyan-sized, but we aren't told anything like that). Instead, we're simply saying that the ribbon's length exceeds a certain threshold: the length required to make it around the package.

The ribbon I bought was so long as to wrap around my entire house.
Here, "long enough" just wouldn't capture the essence of what we're trying to say, which is that the ribbon is ridiculously long.

1)B项中it acquires的it,因为跟在that is so saturated with water这个从句中,而that is so saturated with water是修饰sand的,所以it只能指代sand,不会指代不明。

E.g he is qualified enough for the position。

就算换成了deeply:that is saturated with water deeply to acquire liquid characteristics。

hope this may help.

He is old enough to swim. to do表结果。
