标题: 北美 5.3 树穴,月读,坐稳

1)广告(一屏半):

P1:一开始说ADVERTISING会带来商品PRICE ELASTICITY的改变,然后介绍了两个最广泛的ADVERTISING THEORIES. 之后作者反驳ADVERTISING造成的改变,觉得之前的STUDIES没有考虑其他因素,例如从经济的角度来看,SUSTITUBILITY和DEMAND也是因素。

P2:之后又介绍了2个ADVERTISING的策略还有它们怎么影响SUSTITUBILITY,一个策略会导致POSITIVE PRICE ELASTICITY而另外一个引起NEGATIVE P.E.

P3: 延续之前的两个策略得出的结论是要根据客户群体来定用哪个ADVERTISING策略。

第三和第四篇失意中,不在截止为5.3的JJ中。

数学:

1. DS: a and b are intergers, is a<b?

1) (a^-3)(b^-4) <=-1
2) (a^-4)(b^-3) >1

构思:我选了C。选项1里可知a必是负数,b未知。 选项2可知b为正数,a未知。结合起来得知b>a

2. PS: FIRST ROW HAS 16 SEATS. SECOND ROW HAS TWO MORE THAN FIRST ROW. IF THE LAST ROW HAS 64 SEATS, HOW MANY TOTAL SEATS ARE THERE?

我选了1000.

3. IN A COMPETITION, THERE ARE 14 PEOPLE, INCLUDING SEAN(名字编的),IF THERE ARE 3 WINNERS TO BE SELECTED FROM THE TOTAL, AND ONE OF THEM MUST BE SEAN, HOW MANY COMBINATIONS ARE POSSIBLE?

4. WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING VALUES CORRESPOND TO (n+1)^2 + n^2 + (n-1)^2?  

a) 10,001
b) 30,001
c) 30,002
d) 30,003
e) 40,002

我选了C, 公式加成等于 3(n^2) + 2,而n等于100的话刚好符合条件。

5. THERE ARE TWO TELEPHONE POLES. POLE A's HEIGHT IS 30m. POLE B's HEIGHT IS 40m. DISTANCE FROM POLE A AND B IS 24m. IF A WIRE IS TIGHTLY CONNECTED BETWEEN THE TOP EACH POLE, HOW LONG IS THE WIRE?

用勾股定律算边长为24和10的hypothenuse.

6. HOW MANY COORDINATE POINTS (a,b) ARE THERE THAT SATISFY THE FOLLOWING TWO CONDITIONS: 1. (a+1/b+7)= 5/7 (这部分记忆模糊), WHERE b IS NOT 0 NOR -7; 2. a^2+b^2<=1?

a) NONE
b)1
c)  2
d)  4
e) INFINITE

作文:

The government of Culberton should reject environmentalists' proposal on stricter pollution regulations on local factories because it would hurt the economic growth. Given Earlyville case, where very strict regulations led to factory closures, and subsequently, hundreds of people were unemployed. Even though environmentalist's proposals are modest by now, they will continue demanding stricter ones, hurting Culberton's economy.

请问这是 a的平方减3? 还是 a的-3次方?

应该是-3次方的意思
这个题lz的答案是对的,但是解法是错的。。(a^-4)(b^-3)>1,由于a和b都是整数,则a跟b必然至少有一个为0才可能大于1
把两个不等式联合起来解,可以得出当a<=-1, b=0时两个不等式可以同时成立,则a<b成立

说实话没看懂,这题难度挺大的错了也影响不大。当时思考到第二个条件时发现a或b可能是零,要不然两个数的次方相加不能小于1。之后因为时间紧迫就过了那题。

第二个条件里a和b的次方相加必须是一或小于一,那么coordinate point 有可能是(1,0),(0,1),(-1,0),(0,-1);或者a和b都是fraction。第一条件说到b不能是0,那么只有(0,1)和(0,-1)符合条件。但第一条件还有一部分要花不少时间,所以当时思考到这就过了那题。
