标题: OG19Q707错误选项语法求解
OG19-Q707:
Normally a bone becomes fossilized through the action of groundwater, which permeates the bone, washes away its organic components, and replaces them with minerals.
A. which permeates the bone, washes away its organic components, and replaces them
B. which permeates the bone, washes away its organic components, and those are replaced
C. which permeates the bone, washing away its organic components, to be replaced
D. permeating the bone, washing away its organic components, to be replaced
E. permeating the bone, washing away its organic components and replacing them

C选项能看出来平行的错误，但是OG对to be replaced 的解释不太能理解，为什么可以修饰到which，这里最多是作状语不是吗
求解答！！

主句的main idea是 a bone becomes fossilized. 这个过程需要action of groundwater, 而permeate, wash, replace是water的3个action, 语义上是平行的,在语法结构也必须平行.

是选A的，谢谢解答！做SC老是会纠结一些语法问题，看来还是意思最重要

可是主语是a bone啊，是单数，A的them指代的只有components，他们平行的话不是应该都是作用于主语吗？

我理解的是
which是修饰groundwater(a bone并非主语)的从句：地下水permeates这个bone，washes这个bone的components(整句话中唯一的复数) and 用矿物质replaces了这些成分(them)

但是我不懂OG对CD(permeating, washing away和replacing的主语是a bone)的这个解释~
曼哈顿的解释是, doing 可以修饰前句的主语也可以修饰整个句子（是因为groundwater不是前句的主语所以不能用doing修饰吗？）

曼哈顿解释是说gerund只能修饰整个句子，就是这里的“A bone becomes”，没说到可以修饰前句主语？

曼哈顿原文：
In contrast, a comma –ing modifier modifies the entire preceding clause. Therefore, in answers (D) and (E), permeating the bone… should modify the entire clause, the core of which is A bone becomes. This is incorrect, because the modifier specifically describes what groundwater does, not the general way in which a bone becomes fossilized. Eliminate choices (D) and (E).
