标题: OG19-792题 and前后连接

这道题选C，关于E选项：除了slower不对，还有一个解释说that前面要加逗号，举的例子是：

I sing，and I dance.√

I sing and I dance.×

I sing and dance.√

然而刚刚看到了这道题：

麻烦以后问SC题目的时候把下划线加上。。。

不要纠结逗号的问题，SC绝对不可能考这么细节的东西，SC考的是语义逻辑，不是这种细枝末节的小小的语法点。有没有逗号其实很可能全看出题人的心情，不同出题人有不同的习惯。

我随便说说，你参考一下。

To map Earth’s interior, geologists use a network of seismometers to chart seismic waves that originate in the earth’s crust and ricochet around its interior, most rapidly traveling through cold, dense regions and slower through hotter rocks.
先说第一题，traveling through cold, dense regions and slower through hotter rocks，‘冷快跑热慢走’形容的是ricochet around its interior，而不是seismic waves。用and that会把‘冷快跑热慢走’改成形容seismic waves。

关于 that...and that...，可以参考一下：

I believe that Santa Claus is real and that the Knicks will win the 2018 NBA title. → We have two parallel phrases (subordinate clauses, if you like jargon) that begin with “that.” And that’s great: it’s super-clear that these are two things that I believe.
I believe that Santa Claus is real and the Knicks will win the 2018 NBA title. → Now the parallelism is different. Without “that”, we just have two parallel, independent clauses: “I believe that Santa Claus is real” and “the Knicks will win the NBA title.” That changes the meaning: now, the sentence doesn’t connect “I believe” with “the Knicks will win the NBA title.” And it seems that the latter clause is a fact, rather than something I BELIEVE is true.

I believe that ......and that...... 相当于and连接了两个词组，I believe A and B. 习惯上来说，连接词组的and前面不加逗号
I believe that......and......相当于and连接了两个句子 I believe A and B. 连接句子前面and可以加或者不加逗号

我觉得，SC比较复杂的句型中，句意与语法同等重要，不能因为注意and that的逻辑结构就忽视了对句意的分析，当然像地理这种题目单词复杂有难搞懂，很容易出错就是了。毕竟乍一看waves travel没毛病，但实际上ricochet和travel讲的是同一种动作，二者不能并列，travel只是对ricochet的一种详细解释。and that从句意上来说就已经有问题了。

棒！清楚多了！

多说两句啊，如果你目标730+，一定要纠正“SC考语法”的观念，很多人，很多培训机构以及讲师会去总结GMAT的语法规则，然后遇到反例的时候再更新自己总结的规则，这种做法完全跑偏了。高分段根本不看这些基础语法，几乎每道题都是语义。有时我们看到两道语法上互相矛盾的题目，不是因为教材把语法总结错了，而是出题人根本就不care这些细枝末节的语法点，SC出题是按语义逻辑出题的人，至于grammar，能做到完美最好，做不到完美的情况也很多，出题人其实根本不在乎语法完不完美，有时候看到那种很明显和大多数题目不一样的语法结构，真的就是出题人自己马虎了而已，没那么多可解读的。

嗯嗯，我现在也觉得当初关注的点好像不太对，不同结构的表达的意思都不一样
