标题: OG SC 222
222. By a vote of 9 to 0, the Supreme Court awarded the Central Intelligence Agency broad discretionary powers enabling it to withhold from the public the identities of its sources of intelligence information.
(A)    enabling it to withhold from the public
(B)    for it to withhold from the public
(C)    for withholding disclosure to the public of
(D)    that enable them to withhold from public disclosure
(E)    that they can withhold public disclosure of

Answer is A.

Why can it insert "from the public" between "witthold" and "the identities"? Also in OG 258, it is OK to say "note as an example that somebody do something".

But, in OG 92, it is wrong to say "confronted at once so many changes". Also I met a SC, it is wrong to say "raised at its meeting the possiblity".

Please explain to me. Thanks!

长宾语后置现象，解决歧义。但本身不构成歧义的句子不应该后置

难道说这里不能用定语从句来修饰POWER????

1, who r 'they'?
2, i guess that attributive clause is ok, but it should be ' powers that it uses to withhold ...' ---> redundant

恩，同意d e中复数的错误
多问一句
是否award power for sb to do sth 是错误的呢
还是就应该用 award power V.ing ?

award的正确搭配是 award sth to sb
但是这里题目中的to 不是award的，而是 enable...to
enabling修饰power
