同意选A。我认为A不是省略BY的问题，而是直接和DRAWING平行就行了，前面那个BY是这二个词共用的先行词。E不对，在OG里大部份的答案都不用被动式，且E产生了一个新的主语BODY HEAT，也和前面不对称。

A的it虽然指代不清，但比E要好的多，正如14楼MM所说的，E是在拿body heat和一个方法(by doing,,,)在比较。支持A。

这题为啥没人选D呀？我觉得D满对称的啊 by doing instead of by doing，看了半天谁来个定论啊，到底选什么？A/E/D的都有了，不过个人觉得E读起来好怪by drawing their body heat directly from the Sun instead of body heat generated by burning calories = their body heat directly by drawing from the Sun instead of body heat generated by burning calories ，其中出现了两次body heat ，不符合GMAT语法简洁的精髓啊，其次，第一个body heat 有所有格their，说明了属性，第2个确没，也没定冠词，总觉得怪，请求斑竹赐教

我认为答案是B，A中的it指代有问题。D同样也是it指代问题，而且instead of少用。

逻辑平行，比语法结构平行更重要。如果结构平行，但是逻辑不通，也不可以。
这道题的逻辑结构是 体温的获得是 从太阳那里获得，而不是从燃烧卡路里获得。
虽然结构上没有严格对称，也只有C是逻辑上平行的。通过 from....and not from .....避免了歧义，清楚了说出了本题的逻辑意思。。
其他选项 平行部分都在逻辑上说不通，都产生了歧义。 仿佛在说，获得体温可以通过太阳， 燃烧卡路里也可以通过太阳， 等等。
大家可以体会一下。

Rather than shows preference not alternative. so i think rather than will not be used here. instead of hints at parallelism before and after it. E options is parallel to the earlier portion. "drawing their body heat = body heat generated" & "directly from the Sun = by burning calories"
