标题: 如何判断代词指代不清

Japanese researchers are producing a series of robots that can identify human facial expressions, to which they will then respond; their goal is primarily creating a robot that will empathize with us.

B. expressions, then responding to them; primarily to create

C. expressions and then respond to them; the researchers' primary goal is to create

答案是C.

这道题我最后剩下AC选项比较，选择C。我看到OG对于选项A的解释是：The pronouns they and their in this versionof the sentence are ambiguous, possibly referring to both researchers and robots.

they和their 指代不清，因为既有可能指代researchers，也有可能指代robots。但是 their指代robots 语义不 make sense : the robots' goal is ...creating a robat... 所以我认为只能指代 researchers（并没有指代不轻啊）。对于代词指代不清 Ron曾经说过不是绝对错误，那是不是不应该以“代词指代不清”来排除选项？什么情况算是代词指代不清呢？

感觉有点钻牛角尖了，但是还是想探讨一下。希望有人解答，谢谢。

什么情况下会有代词问题呢？在选项中看到有代词但是其他选项用了名词，那就要考虑指代问题了。

A 的 they will then respond 里面的they指代robot 而their goal 的their 指代researchers ，但是they 与their 必须指代一样的东西。所以排除。
