这道题考的并不是反身代词，
题目中的信息Msg：
*1 R was adapted from E
*2 E was adapted from G
*3 G was adapted from P
这三个事件发生顺序是3->2->1，由于1用一般过去式，2用过去完成时，所以3必须用过去完成时表面其发生顺序，由此可以直接排除B、C
D、E都有一个问题，就是V-ing作修饰成分时可以处于句子的任何位置，having xxx可以修饰R，也可以修饰E，也可以修饰G，itsel在这里仍然指代不清，所以confusing
而A中itself的强调作用是作为,which的自身代词，由于,which确切地修饰紧接在前的G，所以没问题
*自身代词
当自身代词既是动作执行者又是动作的承受者时，称为反身代词
如 I asked him to defend himself.
不过用在句子中表示方位时，不用反身代词
He pulled the desk towards him.
自身代词还可以用作强调作用
如 He himself designed the house that he lives in.
