请问选项C红色部分为什么是插入语？ arrived不算谓语动词吗？

after是连词

我的理解是，after是从句引导词，后面可以跟主谓

是完整的主谓结构吗？那跟后面独立的句子不是缺连词吗？这里会不会是一个独立主格

抱歉不懂啥叫独立主格
插入语，顾名思义就是插入补充信息。本身并不会改变句子结构式。你把它删除掉，看看句子是否完整

查看一个句子谓语，就是把modifiers 都铲除了，剩下那个可以修饰主语的动词

我只懂 s v o 加各种各样的 modifiers .. 对中文的语法真的不懂
