”Rivaling the pyramids of Egypt"这一句就决定了要找一个能“rival“金字塔的东西来做主语了，这也就是为什么是A了。

嗯嗯，这个我理解的，我不理解的是，it作为形式主语，应该有它指代的东西，要怎么判断。因为OG分析是说it不跟金字塔之类的平行，故而不选。但如果it的含义与金字塔平行呢？

两个问题：
1.
”it“如果代指”the army of terra-cotta",那么这里的“it“不叫形式主语，而是代词。“it“做代词，指代”army“，需要“army"先出现，这样it才能代指它，要不然it就没有可以指代的对象了。
E.g.: My friend gave me a ball, and it is made in China.

如果想在本句用it，我尝试改写下原句（虽然Ron大神说不要做这样的事情），就是：
the army of terra-cotta warriors created to protect Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor, in his afterlife is more than 2,000 years old, and it, rivaling the pyramids of Egypt or even the ancient cities of the Maya as an achievement, took 700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete
2.
本题目的C选项“it took ...to create an army"中，“it“叫做形式主语，代替的是”to create an army"。这也就是OG的讲解里为什么说”it“和“pyramid”不平行了。
