标题: 7.4 放狗
昨天考完以后脑子昏昏沉沉的,爬回家就睡了。。。今天起来放点越度柯基~

听到很多小伙伴反映说数学很难,昨天做下来倒没什么感觉【文科生一名!重申!】,昨晚最后一道题还有8分多钟,所以小伙伴们不用担心哈~

昨天的阅读有三篇是寂静中已有的,寂静很全就不多重复了

P1 observation→ 科学家发现现在地球上二氧化碳的排放量比他们原来计算的要稍少一些
     推测原因→ 有人提出,woodland原来是source of CO2,现在已经成为 CO2 sink,吸收二氧化碳并转化成木头
P2 test→ 1920年以前树因为烧啊灾害啊毁坏很厉害,所以释放二氧化碳;但是1920年-1985年种树多了,新增树木超过deforestation,树木吸收了二氧化碳,二氧化碳就变少了
{考题}
1. 主旨题:好像选的是explain paradox,全文就一个理论,之后是这个理论的detail
2.下面哪一项如果是对的,科学家的理论就被削弱了
这道题选项不记得了,当时好像选了一个大致意思树木数量/吸收速度小于co2排出的什么的。。。
这篇是卤煮第一篇,文章不难,逻辑很清楚,细节题文章都有定位

【AWA】
Bonaria(some small island nation)旅游局向minister of economy报告说:自从5年前办了international soccer competition后,之后的两年the number of visitors to Bonaria was 25% higher than that prior to the competition.因此旅游局建议国家政府可以再争取机会办international sporting event,认为a big sporting event can increase tourism and benefit the nation economically.

只记得其中一道大题(3小题)了,表示真心没看懂浪费了好多时间 ╥﹏╥。。。
[fact]:如果一个agent cause a negative side effect,人们tend to think he made it intentionally认为他是故意的;但如果他cause a positive side effect,人们往往会认为并非他本意如此,也会轻易原谅他。
[experiment]:把subject分成两组,一组是“harm”,一组是“help”。给了一个scenario:vp给ceo展示了一个计划,可以increase profit。“harm”组看到的是“这个计划会harm community”,“help”组看到的是same scenario, except harm is changed into help (原文。。。)ceo implemented the plan for the purpose of increasing profit.
       结果:“harm”的subjects纷纷指责ceo不该批这个计划,认为他不保护环境;“help”的subjects认为ceo还是有点值得赞扬的,认为就算他造成了side effect他也不是故意的
[example]:一家餐馆最近采用environment-friendly motorcycle送货,老板决定publicize plan,有以下几个方案:
   Plan A. 老老实实说他们是cut cost,顺便一提对环境好
   Plan B. 绝口不提finance,说这是a part of their plan to protect environment
{考题}
1. 根据fact和experiment选对错(3个)
2. 推测example中这个老板采用分别方案的结果
3. 给出了一个plan C,好像就是不提environment这回事。问老板怎么选比较好:
     a. either plan A or C
     b. only plan B
     c. both plan A and plan C

The quantity of wood in the forests is the key to the puzzle. To estimate its volume, Auclair began with traditional measurements of factors affecting the area and density of a forest, such as logging, fires, pests, and the regrowth and replanting of logged land. Such measurements have been recorded for northern forests for a century. But, significantly, Auclair also included estimates of tree growth rates in uncut forests, derived from recent studies in Europe and North America of tree ring width. This is important because increases in the area of a forest and the number of trees are not the only way that the volume of wood in a forest can increase: it can also increase simply because the trees are growing faster. Any gain in the overall volume of wood ndicates the forest is acting as a carbon sink, turning CO2 into wood

From sink to source
To determine whether the forest as a whole is releasing or absorbing carbon, the volume of wood added to the forest must be compared with the wood lost. Auclair’s analysis of the past hundred years shows the forest changing from a carbon source to a carbon sink and, more recently, back into a source again.

Before 1890, boreal forests were a source of C02, mainly because of forest fires and tree felling. Deforestation releases CO2 largely because debris from the forest floor rots more quickly when the trees are cleared. After 1920, a steep increase in tree growth outstripped the losses due to fire and the felling of trees, turning the northern forests from a carbon source into a carbon sink and storing C02 from fossil fuel burning for the next fifty years.
