标题: 美本学渣想念商科phd求定位
一直犹豫了很久要不要念phd，最近终于决定要念phd啦啦
BG: 普通美本专业：finance GAP:3.7+, 研究生专业international buinsess，在 university of south carolina和ESCP Europe念了double degree
GMAT:680 不需要语言成绩没什么research经验和publication
比较想读management或者international business
求大神帮忙定个位比较倾向去美国南方的学校 UTD, UM什么的

Gmat 700+.许多学校的门槛。
找个老师做个RA或者写个working paper.

请问南卡的finance phd怎么样，差不多水平的学校是哪些呢

讲真，LZ你背景挺好的哈。本科GPA比我高多了。GMAT可以再考一次试试看提高些。关键是自己想清楚为什么要读博，感兴趣的研究方向是什么。写好PS，早点和教授沟通争取有比较强的推荐信。最后就是根据自身情况，大致定位自己的竞争力，选择好要申请的各个档次的学校。

一年申請者800人
南卡大概是temple附近，80-100名的R1學校 (倒數第二檔次R1)
世界排名要有240-300名申請的上，大概是 Top30%申請者。

這一檔次基本是美本+650-700GMAT+Strong Letters+ Research Exp + 數學課
或是國內+760以上 GMAT + Samething
如果要往上shoot UM UTD的話，則是必須重考GMAT 但letter也影響很大

并不打算读finance的phd 想读一个自己有兴趣的专业

Thank you! In terms of the strategy around pursuing a PhD in a specific business segment/discipline, your double Masters degrees will be helpful but also force you to really convince the AdComs as to WHY you need a PhD as well. For example, the AdComs will want to understand in your applications if you plan to teach, do research, or do both. Whether you apply in South America or elsewhere, it will be the same. You will need to be clear as to why a PhD is needed given your extensive profile. If you've taken the GMAT only once or twice, I suggest re-taking to bring your score above 700. Good luck!
