标题: OG2018关于逗号的用法
OG2018上面有两道题让我很想不通~逗号按理说前后不能是独立完整的句子的，要跟连接词i.e and, but etc. 或者是从句类。以下两个正确句子-哪位大神能解释下这个逗号前后都是完整句子，但是又没有任何连接词的用法合理吗？谢谢！！！

OG2018-684：(正确句子）

In 1913, the largely self-taught Indian mathematicianSrinivasa Ramanujan mailed 120 of his theorems to three different Britishmathematicians; only one, G. H. Hardy, recognized the brilliance of thesetheorems, but thanks to Hardy's recognition, Ramanujan was eventually electedto the Royal Society of London.

OG 2018-686 （正确句子）

The Life and Casualty Company hopes that by increasing itsenvironmental fund revenues to $1.2 billion, it has set aside enough to pay forenvironmental claims and will no longer have to use its profits and capital topay those claims bit by bit, year by year.

第一句的分號本身就有連接詞的作用，不能再加連接詞。

第二句的結構是這樣的：

The Life and Casualty Company hopes [that /by increasing itsenvironmental fund revenues to $1.2 billion/, it has set aside enough to pay forenvironmental claims and will no longer have to use its profits and capital to pay those claims bit by bit, year by year.]

主句是The Life and Casualty Company hopes...，that裡面是完整的名詞子句，
因此那個逗號只是隔開名詞子句內的主句it has set aside....跟句首修飾語 by increasing...。

这个分句里面，这么多逗号之间是什么关系呢？

only one ... recognized...是句子的S+V。

, G. H. Hardy, 是插入在主詞後面的同位語（因為是插入語所以兩邊用逗號分隔）。

, but...則是兩句平行，用逗號及連接詞隔開。

thanks to Hardy's recognition, Ramanujan was eventually electedto the Royal Society of London.

這是but右邊的完整句，這個逗號是隔出句首的修飾短語thanks to Hardy's recognition。
