In many upper-class Egyptian homes, French was spoken within the family, just as it had once been among the Russian aristocracy.

A里面it指代什么啊? 是French was spoken within the family吗? 不是说GMAT里面不可以指代句子吗, 而且以前做的题目好像也没有这么用过的.

? 楼上兄弟意思是指代spoken, 代词还可以指代分词?

是指代french.我想二楼那位想旅游的GG是明确句子的平行结构，从而让楼主更清楚的看出指代对象
