As the former chair of the planning board for 18 consecutive years and a board member for 28 years, J.P. attended more than 400 meetings and reviewed more than 700 rezoning applications.

软件给出的正确答案是e。可是e难道不是改变了句子的意思么？求大神解答。

理解句子原意是，JP作为chair和board member，来参加会议。她现在不是chair了，所以原句子用了former，但是前面有一个As，她是以XX身份参加的，显然不可能是Former的身份，so~希望你看懂了。。。

主句是J.P attended... and reviewed....时态是过去式，JP参加了...并且审查了...，JP当时是作为 (as) the chairman和a board member. 如果用the former chairman, 说明她在attended和reviewed之前就已经不再是chairman了，那么又怎么attended meeting和reviewed applications呢？这不符合逻辑。

感觉这个人已挂，后面用过去式。可以想象语境为追悼会。e后面应该用现在完成时，说明此人还在

嗯，说的有道理。就是attend的时候是chair和board member，所以不应该用former。
