标题: 必看:美国西海岸的第一所大学:Google和Apple生源地圣塔克拉拉大学
更新:SCU的USNEWS排名已经出,第一次参加全美大学综合排名即获得54名。另外福布斯最新全美所有大学(文理学院包括)第51名。

由于SCU的班级人数少于30人的班级比例几乎接近100%,SCU目前本科2023级录取标准化成绩是:
- An average unweighted GPA of 3.82
- SAT average composite score of 1420
- ACT average composite of 32
大一新生保留率是95%,4年毕业率85%,6年毕业率91%。
而USNews重点看这些指标。SCU今年就是黑马。
因为这些数据都是SCU未进入全美大学排名,在生源优势弱的情况下的数据,当进入全美大学排名后,SCU的这些数据会进一步提升,排名也会进一步提升。具体排名敬请9月关注。
(大家好,好久没更新了,先更新在前面:由于卡内基标准对博士级别大学划分标准已经改变(新增100多个博士级别大学,大部分来自于master级别大学),圣塔克拉拉大学将于明年9月份参与USNews全美大学排名(只有博士级别大学可以参加USNews全美大学排名)(过去SCU由于每年发PhD学位数少于20个而一直是master级别大学)。卡内基标准的链接:http://carnegieclassifications.iu.edu/。按目前本科生入学的SAT/ACT和GPA,SCU将第一次参加全美大学排名进入USNews前50名。大家可以横向对比Villanova University。而且最新的PayScale全美大学和文理学院的毕业生薪资排名SCU是全美第13名,参考链接:https://www.payscale.com/college-salary-report/bachelors,比SCU薪资高的在加州的大学只有Havey Mudd College,斯坦福大学,和加州理工学院。当然你说SCU位置在湾区,工资理应高,但SCU准确来说是在圣何塞,这里的消费水平是比东部大城市低的。学校不是科研型大学,是个技术型应用型大学,学得东西虽然不深但非常实用。想做科研的别来了!!!)(另一些排名如2019年USNews西部地区硕士水平大学第1,实际上是目前的全美硕士级别大学第1,可以参考看下endowment,毕业率和学生成绩。Payscale商学院薪资全美第10,这些都还只在SCU不出名情况下,招收的学生水平是二流甚至三流水平下的情况)。
只希望帮助一些成绩一般但需要上不错的大学就业的。美国西海岸最老的大学是斯坦福吗?是伯克利吗?是华盛顿大学吗?统统不是。最老的大学是位于硅谷中心的低调牛校-圣塔克拉拉大学。低调难道是个错?
圣塔克拉拉大学目前上课班级人数都是小于40人,所有的课全部是教授代课。master学生生源也大都是国内或美国名校的学生,如北大,复旦,浙大,上海交大,人大等或者是Rice,UIUC,UCLA,USC,UC Davis,U Washington等。也许名校出生的人并不是特别看重学校的排名,只有非名校的才有名校情节必须去排名高的学校。
目前在很多美国大学排行榜上 圣塔克拉拉大学 早已经是全美各类大学的前一百,Forbes全美college排名是64名好吧,力压Emory的第66和UIUC的第68名。
学校低调不是错,去年转专业的 CS master 光去Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Apple 就有五分之一,去了20多个。
学校正在筹划新校区,目前已经收到1亿3千万美金的捐助。但学校就是低调,校园里很多地方都有2020年建成新校区的告示,但到目前都没给出新的地址在哪里aaa。
不过,等新校区一旦建成,圣塔克拉拉大学就会像Villonova University一样,迅速进军Usnews 前五十。Villonova 在2017年之前一直是北部地区第一的区域性大学,但2017年进军usnews第50,今年就是第47了。
目前没申请圣塔克拉拉大学的赶紧申请。我在读的,可以保证这个学校的教学是精品,而且压力非常大。课程用的是Quarter制,但课程量没有缩减,也就是本来Semester一个学期的课要压缩到3个月讲完并考试完。
这个学校的商学院更强。商学院真正的是一堆堆的进FLAG。

圣塔克拉拉大学成立于1851年,坐落于美国加利福尼亚州硅谷的中心地带,是美国的一所著名的私立天主教学校。作为加利福尼亚州最古老的一所高校,圣塔克拉拉大学有着极高的学术声誉,曾连续15年被美国新闻世界报导杂志评为美国西部大学排名(这里说的是不以PhD为主的大学的排名,PhD和科研实力与就业和商科关系不大)第二名,福布斯全美顶尖大学第64名,Glassdoor全美大学薪资排名第21位,是美国西部最有价值的学校之一。学校以法学院,工程学院,商学院出名。商学院历年毕业6个月内全职就业率为91%。
既然说到圣塔克拉拉大学,那就不得不介绍一下圣塔克拉拉市了。圣塔克拉拉市是一个阳光充足,气候宜人的城市,曾是加州历史上最富裕的地区之一,迄今已有150年的历史。由于圣塔克拉拉市位于高科技发展的重镇旧金山湾区,所以该城市以高科技产业闻名,然而这座城市一反高科技的冰冷,市区附近遍布农场,景色优美秀丽,加上各式各样的文化设施,让圣塔克拉拉市更添了几分风雅。
从世界500强到小型的初创公司,有200多万居民和6600多个科技公司在硅谷安家。圣塔克拉拉大学独具慧眼,座落于这个具有得天独厚优势的地区,所以圣塔克拉拉大学的学生可以在硅谷找到很多珍贵的实习和工作机会,学习资源也是相当的丰富。
不来虚的,论文和研究跟你商科master就业无关,只来实的,牛皮吹得再大,不如容易就业和高薪实在。酒香不怕巷子深,圣塔克拉拉大学会像名字那么可爱一样,2年内必火。
2017年学校收到了1亿3千万刀的捐赠(其中1亿美金经费是全美教会大学历史第二的单笔捐赠),正在盖另一所STEM校园,2020年建成。预计排名也会跟着大涨。大家请看villanova university,16年usnews仅是北部地区第一名,17年就黑马杀入usnews全美大学第50,18年usnews排名更是47名。

算好点的大学里容易申请的,而且目前还在迅速发展,去年收到1.3亿美金捐款要建新的工程学院,前一两周收到2500万美金要建新的体育馆。
