最近在整理自己的千行，错误选项想每一个问题都找出来，看A的时候始终想不通为什么OG的解释要说assigned by them是用来形容paychecks的呢？我是想着说，这种comma+participle modifier应该是一个伴随状语啊，主语是some governments啊

A选项Assigned by被动语态错误，而且即使语态正确，其句子含义也不符合however吧。

首先，关于comma+ed，楼主的理解没有问题。援引RON的说法：in general, "comma + __ed" can describe the noun directly in front of it, but can also describe the subject (James collapsed onto the couch, exhausted from a long day at work). 详细可以看这个帖子的讨论：https://forum.chasedream.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1302483&highlight=comma%2Bed
其次，无论主语是governments，还是就近修饰前面的名词paychecks，这里的assigned，修饰对象都是有问题的。实际上，句意是说，一些国家仅仅是用生活津贴，代替了那些被指派到联合国的工作人员的工资。我觉得这里要takeaway的收获，是明白GMAT很喜欢考以COMMA ING 和 COMMA ED 为代表的修饰关系问题，也就是说，下次选项出现了这样的信号，我们要形成问下自己，这个修饰对象是谁，是否符合逻辑，符合句意的思维即可。RON也说过，OG的解释也不完全讲得对，没有必要强迫自己按照那个思维来，只要保证自己下次碰到这样的题，能排除错误选项，选对就好了。总之不用太纠结OG的解释，个人理解。
