这道题选C 是因为现在分词circling作后置定语修饰planets，前面most of them…是插入语，不影响定语修饰。
但是楼主对D选项有个疑问：如果C中“现在分词circling作后置定语修饰planets，前面most of them…是插入语，不影响定语修饰。” 那么为什么D中的“mostly at least as large as Jupiter”不能也因为是插入语，不影响修饰，从而which circle 可以修饰前面的80 massive planets呢？还是不管是不是插入语，which都是就近修饰最近的名词？

which跳跃修饰一般是在介词短语和有插入语修饰前面名词的情况下，而且这些结构要比which引导的从句要短，这道题which从句很短更适合就近修饰；再说了如果which修饰了planets那不就是歧义了嘛 毕竟还是能修饰Jupiter的 个人理解经供参考哈作者: Surri 时间: 2017-10-15 22:17
這裡的「80 massive planets, most of them as large or larger than Jupiter」不是一個複合名詞的形式，所以不適用跳躍修飾的原則。作者: LLEOE 时间: 2017-10-17 17:18
如果你发现一个名词的前后都是修饰词，没有位置放定语从句的时候，才有可能是跳跃修饰。
