说答案D，应该是跟这道题搞混了。

你说的那题应该选A，D选项documenting是doing形式，document才是名词形式，与discovery词性一样，平行。

感谢！我还有个纠结的点： her work 不需要跟 ML’ s contribution 平行吗？还是说对于 in addition to.. 不需要平行呢？

我觉得你纠结的原因，是只看语法，没有考虑语义。根据划线句，我们可以判断，intended meaning是讲，ML这个人通过三种东西，为考古学研究做出了贡献。三种事物是：1）她关于M化石的研究成果，2）关于H的证据的发现，3）东非岩画的记录情况。所以，非要考虑平行，根据句意，也只能是名词性的三种事物相并列，而不会是ML和work平行。D 语意上可以，语法上有问题。
