Reading articles in the Economist may help your understanding of the structures, since those articles are neither too long nor short.

But I think LSAT test your reading detail more than just speed.

For reading reference other than LSAT, I'd recommend
Economist,Nation,Science and Editorial's review from NY times,Washinton
Post.(update everyday and free for read for 1 week)

Sorry for this late reply. A little busy with my application

For the reading on philosophy, i don't have any preference. I simply went to the philosphy section in the library,and picked up a couple of books.

I didn't read anything particular on economics either. i read novels, magazines,and newspaper most of the time. for magazine, i recommend the Economist, Time. for newspaper, the New York Times, the Walstreet Journal. Read them when you get tired of test questions.The novels i read came from used book stores

I never tried any speed reading software. so i have no idea about that.

北京大学出版社有一个影印版本的西方哲学教材。当当上有

前者（American History Literature）是书吧？好象相同名字的书籍有好多，作者、出版社也很多。LRzealot 指的是?

后两个杂志（Popular Science 和 Scientific American）每期都挺厚的。

time 的review 文章还是不错的。
其他杂志都太贵了。
