答案里面说a中的those指代harvest，这里不是很懂啊，harvest不是收成的意思吗，可是我理解的是those指代1978大米的产量啊，为什么harvest可以代表前面的rice production呢

答案解释好诡异啊，其实是这样的。前半句名词只有rain， India's rice production，没有复数的东西给those指代呀。
按你的说法，应该选E，（选A的话就证明你被两个出题点坑了），但是E相当于fewer than （rice production） of India's 1978 harvest，比印度1978年的收成的大米产量（产量不也是收成吗）少，很诡异的吧？应该是比印度1987年的收成少，就是less than the 1978 harvest

哦哦哦哦哦前面我懂了！！！！！！排除those排除fewer应该就能选出正确答案了！！！谢谢！！！！！！！（其实我是觉得收成包含了很多粮食种类大米是其中的一种，我再体会一下，还是谢谢您！）

我刷了挺多题，【收成】这东西就见过这一次。你可以把这个排错点抽象出来，语义重复出现不好，记得就行了。以后甚至看到什么rise high一起，because so一起，direction way一起，你都知道是不好的表达，就无敌了～加油

less than表示少于,fewer than表示少于某一确定数值，those指代不明，产量不可以与年份作比较，选B
