标题: 国内读MBA还是申美国TOP15 [打印本页]

标题: 国内读MBA还是申美国TOP15
我在北欧工作5年半，科技行业。最近在考虑读MBA，想看看大家有没有什么建议。
个人基本情况：本科在国内读的，毕业后在北欧一所比较好的理工学院读的硕士，毕业后一直在这边工作。第一份工作在爱立信，是技术岗，第二份工作在一家总部在硅谷的美国企业，做过技术，项目经理和市场战略。海外生活快8年，中长期的打算应该是要回中国发展，而且MBA毕业后无意向从事咨询和投行（因为没有pre-MBA的经历估计毕业后即便有意也不会容易拿到这些行业的offer），毕业后有意去科技公司做Business development方面的工作或者转行去做VC。
Possible MBA Options:
清华/北大/中欧: 优点是费用小，可以帮助我更好地结识更多本土的人才以及了解中国的特定商业环境和文化。缺点是听说国内很多比较高层次的工作只招M7 清北中欧毕业生可能会过不了简历的过滤器？？还有就是我读过伦敦那家比较好的商学院的短期项目当时有很多美国很好学校的同学，课堂讨论热烈可以学到很多东西，我对国内英文MBA项目的同学和老师在这方面的课堂文化和习惯不是十分了解，即便相信也会从他们身上学到很多东西。

美国TOP15: 优点是学习体验好，学位在世界范围内的辨识度高，毕业后收入高的可能性更大。缺点是贵。

在美国学习工作生活了六年，财务咨询工作背景，打算申请明年中欧入学。。听说中欧在上海的资源还是很丰富的。另外FYI，清华北大的MBA可能需要参加国内联考（具体求考证）。。中欧长江跟国外商学院申请流程一样。。

Hey Jay. 谢谢你的回复。中欧老师背景看上去很不错，而且youtube上的宣传视频感觉好像也很国际化，交换学校水平也很高。只是不知道国内很多很好的工作会不会对本土MBA缺乏信心从而被拦到简历那一关。（我觉得进面试以后大家就要看自己真正的软件实力了）。你有这方面的信息分享吗。：）

看你怎么定义“好的工作”了。。中欧毕业想去MBB或者顶级金融机构（外资BB外资PEVC等）那不是很容易。当然也有人能做到，但是都是背景好得一塌糊涂的牛人。中欧的就业报告看看基本就能了解他们的主要去向了嘛。。就我所知道的（也都是各种论坛上看到的哈哈哈），很多本土公司/外企亚太区会去中欧开宣讲会，access还是不错的。。就楼主的career goal而言，中欧非常适合且足够了。。。当然最好的还是找中欧的alumni或者在校生了解情况啦。。

难度上差别还是很大的吧
中欧EMBA还是很好的

有朋友在中欧，听他反馈感觉蛮好，同学背景很 diversified，教授都狠厉害，课程设置也不错，career development support 也挺好。招聘的时候主要是去corporate, 也有去consulting, banking, VC/PE的。进投行咨询比美国M7 难一些，VC 好像不少

Hey there,

so first of all in terms of experience and international experience your profile seems excellent!
And your idea of continuing to work in your specific field is also the right one.

As for positioning and schools, I’d love to help you out but without more info it’s gonna be hard. Where do you work? How quickly have you advanced? Do you have any leadership? What are your great achievements? Do you have notable community service or extra curriculars? Which school did you graduate from?

With the right GMAT you can aim for Top 15 schools… so I would say that the first step of this voyage should involve you getting your GMAT.

All of these will play important roles in your evaluation.

清北的mba因为是有学位有学历的，要参见国内的mba联考，难度确实不难。可以了解下。
楼主可以考虑清华五道口的FMBA，五道口和康奈尔合办的，如果很有意从事vc的话。

能念美国还是念美国
或是中欧可以交换M7
反正回国后多的是时间了解国情
有开阔的视野跟激荡
未来的事业发展更开阔
毕竟这是钱买不到的东西
又北欧薪水高，不缺学费
能投资好一点，后面赚更多更快

Thanks for the additional info, dude. There's still a whole lot more we need to dig into in order to really set a strategy here (and it's more than we can get into in a forum!), but based on what you're telling me, M7 is going to be tough for you. Is it impossible? No, but with a 720 GMAT (good, not amazing...especially when you're competing with really high scores in China!) and the fact that you're not coming from Peking or Tsinghua, M7 is just going to be tough for you. Top 15 could happen, and INSEAD could be within reach, as well, but we'd probably wanna put a few more schools on your list to maximize your chances.

And with all of 'em... especially those reach school, it all comes down to how you position yourself in terms of your background and your goals. As I said before, you've got some good stuff going for you! But sooo many applicants do. The trick is presenting it in a way that truly stands out and sets you apart from the crowd. This is where many strong applicants fail, so we gotta be really smart in how you build those apps so the adcom sees VERY clearly how awesome you are!

Hi Jon. Thanks again for your reply. Do you think a higher GMAT may possibly play an important role in getting me in M7? I have got 770 in my mock test, would like to take the exam again if that makes a big difference. Cheers,

A higher GMAT ALWAYS helps.It give syou better chances everywhere and better opportunities to get scholarships too. so if you believe you can do better and you have the time, then go for it!
