标题: 【求助PREP】一道找不到解析的题，麻烦小伙伴帮帮忙
it is frequently claimed that caffeine is an addictive substance. its users often show withdrawal symptons such as headaches and irritability for several days after ceasing caffeine consumption. However, caffeine is not an addictive substance. Those who exhibit caffeine-consuming behavior that seems to evidence an addiction are overwhelmingly those who also have histories of drug or alcohol abuse, and the consumption of caffeine cannot be said to pose any harm to society, unlike the use of alcohol or drugs. Which of the following is an assumption the author makes?

A. For a sudstance to be addictive, its users must pose a harm to society.
B. If one suffers withdrawal symptoms upon ceasing the use of a substance, then one can be said to be addicted to the substance.
C. Addictive behavior has the same origin regardless of the substance to which one is addicted.
D. The use of caffeine has not resulted in a detriment to society.
E. Headaches and irritability upon withdrawal are not necessary components of an addiction to a substance.

选A。
但是C为什么错了？

把C反过来看，Addictive behavior does not has the same origin regardless of the substance to which one is addicted, 对结论没有影响，stem里也没有讨论origin的问题。

Stem里说的是The consumption of caffeine cannot be said to pose any harm to society. So caffeine is not an addictive substance. （实际这里有点牵强）

我们可以推出 When caffeine is an addictive substance, the consumption of caffeine pose harm to society.

Basicly 就是A的意思，但是其实这里一个问题是前面的conditional的关系不是很清楚，另外A选项说的是its users，最重要的是这题不是Must be true而是Assumption，所以我觉得这题不是很严谨。

不知道这题的source是什么，建议还是谨慎使用吧。

是模考GMATV3 应该是PREP

我也觉得its users很牵强，题目明明没有提到呀。这类assumption题，经常放在前提和结论之间也很能判断，有没有比较好的思路呢？？= =
