各位大神们，同位语是就近修饰吗，一下有两个题让我很不懂，同位语到底是怎么修饰的

例：OG10-39 For members of the seventeenth-century Ashantination in Africa, animal-hide shields with wooden frames were essential itemsof military equipment, a method to protect warriorsagainst enemy arrows and spears.

A. a methodto protect

B. as a method protecting

C. protecting

D. asa protection of

E. to protect

OG10-39的解释（注意C选项的解释）：

Choice C is bestbecause the participle protecting begins a phrase that explains what theshields did. Choices A and B awkwardlyuse the singular word method to refer to items of military equipment rather than to the useof such items. Also, a method of protecting would be more idiomatic thana method to protect in A or a method protecting in B. In B and D,as is incorrect; also, a protection in D has no noun for which itcan logically substitute. Choice E is incomplete; used to protect wouldhave been acceptable.
这里说同位语a method是修饰items，那就是就近修饰咯？

The loan company announced it would soon lendmoney to borrowers with proven records oftheir not paying back their loans on time, collectively known as thesubprime lending market.

B. ofnot paying back their loans on time, a group

C. ofnot paying back their loans on time, with such a group

选项分析：

A．of their not paying back their loans表达不简洁，第一个their累赘；未划线部分的known修饰loans不合理

B．correct；本题关键在于识别出逗号后面成分的修饰对象 -- borrowers的同位语必须是a group才合理，。

C．With引导独立主格，其逻辑主语为it（指代company），逻辑不合理；such无所指，错误且多余。

D．定语从句在这里表达不简洁地道；未划线部分的known修饰loans不合理

E．定语从句在这里表达不简洁地道；such无所指，错误且多余。

这里又说a group是修饰borrowers，那就是可以跳跃修饰咯？

所以，综合这两个题，实在是不知道该怎么判断了

求解答！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！

之前版上有过同位语修饰的讨论，结论——可以就近修饰，可以跳跃修饰。

可以修饰就近的名词，也可以修饰前面的整个句子。。。

亲，我看了一下最后一楼的盆友写的，但是有一个地方不明白，想请教一下你
他举的例子中DE选项，a work不能修饰前面整句话吗？感觉也可以吧，前面整句话说的就是这个work啊
