语义不合。这里的by指的是借助某种力量来达成某种目的，而本句话的overcompensating应该是unintended的。

排版亂了
條件句前後時態不一定相同 EX If S+V, S will+V or If S had Vpp, S+ would have Vpp
但像OG所說的 前後主被動要一致

E选项不是像og解释那样错误，最明显的错误如下：
而是错在they 跟 the animal指代不一致（英文叫do not argee，不知道是不是中文这个意思）。
Starfish,...,have...这里用了have,说明 starfish是复数，只不过长得像单数的样子,可以用they指代。if they lose one arm it is quickly replaced, sometimes with the animal....
然而they（复数）...with the animal(单数)...这里with作为伴随状语是用来修饰they的，这个句子存在很明显的指代的单复数不一致。
正确选项B选项不存在这个问题：
if one arm is lost it is quickly replaced, with the animal... 这里都是单数，结合上下文就可以理解的很清楚句子的意思了。

不是吧。animal可以做形容词的。

With的用法来讲，后面要跟名词，句中这个名词只能是animal，它不可能是形容词。而animal在这句话指代复数的starfish不恰当。如果上述agreement比较难理解，还有一个简单的meaning理解就是they lose one arm，they怎么能lose only one arm，很难想象这么多starfish仅失去one arm

with那里应该是独立主格。名词只能是animal

我再加一个大家这里都没有提到的错误便是sometimes 这个modifier 的位置，这个也是个非常明显的错误。 这里B和E的选项中 sometimes 这个modifier 的位置发生了改变：
E 中sometimes 修饰 the animal 作为一个 noun modifier
B 中的 sometimes 是修饰overcompensating 的一个 adv modifier
而E中的句意发生了改变，按照E的意思是 only sometimes animal replaces the lost arm
但是如果大家仔细读句子的话就会意识到句子的intended meaning 是： animal always replaces the lost arm 只不过sometimes 太过了以致于多长一两个触角。所以其实正确的sometimes 的位置应该靠近它所要修饰的词语overcompensating。 而像E这样的选项sometimes 修饰的确实animal 而不是overcompensating
这种 modifier 位置发生了改变而改变句意的考法在G中非常重要，因为这种考法考的就是近来最最流行的句意的理解

E. 個人理解:
First part:
B. one arm is lost it is quickly replaced v.s. E. they lose one arm it is quickly replaced. they明顯指代Starfish, 由mani cl.動詞have可知they為複數，沒有數量問題；it皆指代one arm句意上也沒有問題。
B優於E的關係在於：
1. B的it指代one arm，同為主格，走相同位置指代；相對E的it為主格，指代if子句的受格(one arm)而言，B的閱讀上較直覺；
2. E選項比起B選項，多減少使用一個代名詞(they)，因此，因為代名詞而產生的歧異風險也較低了一點。
Second part: B. with sometimes animal overcompensating v.s. E. sometimes with animal overcompensating
第二部分前面已有回文，我直接說明句意:
B: 伴隨著有時的overcompensating，sometimes修飾compensating: 代表"有時候會"過度補償，"有時後不會"過度補償=> 有時候斷一隻，就補一隻；但有時候會補到兩隻，但是都是會長新的觸角出來。
E. 有時伴隨著overcompensating，sometimes修飾with compensating: "有時後伴隨"過度捕償，"有時候不會伴隨"過度補償＝>有時候會伴隨，有時候不會伴隨，代表有時候會長觸角，有時候不會長。
意思有些微差距。
