Because postage rates are rising, Home Decorator magazine plans to maximize its profits by reducing by one half the number of issues it publishes each year. The quality of articles, the number of articles published per year, and the subscription price will not change. Market research shows that neither subscribers nor advertisers will be lost if the magazine’s plan is instituted.

Which of the following, if true, provides the strongest evidence that the magazine’s profits are likely to decline if the plan is instituted?

为什么分析的时候subscribers are a non-factor?为什么不能选A和D？
求大神指点这道题拿到手正确的做题思路？

选D吧

Conclusion在问题提干里： profit会下降；
GMAC默认你已经知道 profit = revenue - cost cost = postage + issue printing题里已经说了issue会减半，那么issue printing肯定是减半的了。

A其实是方向反了，weaken了结论。你想，如果postage只增加了33%，那你printing上已经省了50%，加起来cost还是下降17%。而cost下降就意味着profit上升才对。

D 说advertisers 每期交的广告费不变。那这就不好了，因为每年的期数减半了（假设原来 12期/年，现在变成了 6期/年），那每年收的广告费就少了一半。因此加强了结论。

subscriber是个factor，但选项里没说。

想问一下issue减半和article不变，不矛盾吗……有点混乱嘤嘤……

不矛盾吧，字印小点，或者文章短一点，反正结果就是题目里是说 Article number per year 不变，咱们就当作是对的就好了。

关键是D里面的spend the same amount on advertising per issue就出问题了。
