Psychological research indicates that college hockey and football players are more quickly moved to hostility and aggression than are college athletes in noncontact sports such as swimming. But the researchers’ conclusion—that contact sports encourage and teach participants to be hostile and aggressive—is untenable. The football and hockey players were probably more hostile and aggressive to start with than the swimmers.

严重怀疑自己对最后一句话的理解错误。
The football and hockey players were probably more hostile and aggressive to start with than the swimmers.
足球和曲棍球的选手比游泳选手更有敌意，在开始的时候

说明到后来敌意就减弱了？但看A感觉自己的理解好想正好反了。哪里错了呢？

the last sentence is the main conclusion, which is drawn by the author; however, the question is asking to strengthen the conclusion drawn by the researchers.

rearrange the sentence: The football and hockey players were probably to start with more hostile and aggressive than the swimmers do. Does it make more sense? The researchers' conclusion is saying the hostility and aggression is increasing over time, but the author argue that they start with more....but not increasing over time. That's how I interpret it.

最后一句是说那些加入橄榄球和冰球的运动员之所以加入对抗性运动而不是游泳这类的非对抗性运动，也许就是因为他们本身就更加hostile and aggressive。

就是说这帮人genetically（天生的）就暴力，具有侵略性；他们的天性使得他们顺利选入校hockey和football team。

整个提干就是一个因果倒置的论证，Psychological research想说是hockey和football使这些人变得hostile和aggressive，然后作者就说其实这些人是因为hostile和aggressive而去打hockey和football去了。

然后A选项说，其实你看队员们在不打hockey和football的off-season时候就已经hostile和aggressive，所以肯定不是hockey和football导致的hostility和aggressiveness

谢谢，参考你的解释我又看了一遍题，
to start with是originally 的意思，我还以为是“只有最开始”呢。

》就是说这帮人genetically（天生的）就暴力，具有侵略性；他们的天性使得他们顺利选入校hockey和football team。

你说的“天生的”就是我没翻译出来的关键词，所以当时没选对。
现在明白了to start with 是天生的，originally的意思。十分感谢。

这都是意译，大神Ron每次讲题的时候都强调
What does it mean? Try to explain it to a 5-year-old.
所以我每次看现在也在试着简化信息，这样才能达到comprehend的目的

好有意思呀，以前发表PPT时经常听前辈这么说。没想到同样原理也能运用到GMAT。
今天晚上做题时我试试。

而且感觉练习一次容易，坚持下来比较难。
