这题答案选C。但是！！我记得Mahatten语法中说过：
      Donot choose Y OF X’s to indicate that Y belongs to X. Choose either the form YOF X or the form X’s Y. Othergrammar authorities allow Y OF X’s,but this construction is considered redundant by the GMAT.
Wrong: Certain humans’parasites have been shown to provide bacterial resistance and protectionagainst auto-immune disorders.
Right: Certainparasites in humans have been shown to provide bacterial resistance andprotection against auto-immune disorders.
The correctversion clears up the ambiguity as to what the adjective certain modifies. The correct version also properly identifies therelationship between parasites and humans.

所以对于C的结构human beings' burning of fossil fuels，求大神解答啊。这个结构是不是不科学啊。

这个结构为啥不科学？在逻辑上，真正引起气候变暖的应该是人类焚烧化石能源这个行为，而不是人类本身，所以核心词是burning，human beings'用来作定语。

首先要看明白曼哈顿语法这里说的限制条件：不能用 Y of X's 来表示 Y belongs to X.

而这道题说的根本不是这种情况，这题考的是主要词语和修饰语的主次之分: 修饰语可以忽略不看

C 选项： a phenomenon is caused by human being's burning (of fossil fuels)

就像楼上说的，这是非常符合逻辑的，楼主用这个方法试试看把其他选项中的修饰语去掉不看，看看剩下的主要词语是否能是句子符合逻辑就明白了

我再思考了一下，A’s B OF C是可以的，（A’s B）OF C。
