The number of vehicles on the road classified as "light trucks" in the United States increased by more than twicefrom 1980 to 1992.

A. increased by more than twice

B. increased more than two times

C. more than doubled

D. was more than doubledE.

had more than doubled

答案是C，但是B为什么错啊？有木有人可以shed some light on.....

首先，从表达简洁的角度来看，这个原因你肯定同意的。如果细究语法，IMO times用在这里有歧义，twofold 更好点，two times可以表示“2次”。供参考。
